The face behind the name – Clear photography is Sam and Susan Heaton, People and Portrait photographers. We love photography and can turn our hand to any subject! Specialising in relaxed family photography, underwater and elopements.
Based in both Edinburgh and East Lothian, we cover lifestyle photography commissions all across Scotland and beyond.
After meeting at Art College in 2001, we travelled and worked in various countries around the world, taking photographs and honing our love of photography!
We finally settled down in Edinburgh, got married… got a dog. . .and started Clear, way back in 2005. A very exciting year for us! Until the birth of our children of course… Of which we now have two, Poppy and Fergus, who are the reason we do what we do!
Sam is a surfer and loves anything to with the water, so underwater photography is his favourite niche. He also has a side hustle making surf board fins – check him out on Instagram.
Susan is a people person and she loves photographing people doing the things they love – no stiff posing here! All lovely natural reactions and she always finds that perfect light! She also has a brand photography business and is usually found hanging out on Instagram.
